A pensioner has received an undisclosed personal injury compensation claim payout after she sustained serious facial injuries having tripped on an uneven paving slab.

The accident happened in 2007 in Sheffield and the pensioner smashed her dental bridge, knocked a tooth out and chipped all her other teeth.  She also needed stitches in her chin. 

Sheffield Council admitted liability and has made an out of court settlement.  The figure has not been disclosed.
