Law Changes to Make Animal Owners Liable

30.06.2009

There are plans by the government to amend legislation to make animal keepers liable for injury.

The initiative to amend the law has come in the wake of the tragic accident which took place in Yorkshire when a woman died having been trampled by a herd of cows whilst walking her dog.

However, the proposed changes are thought by some to be likely to over complicate the law surrounding accident claims and animals and potentially lead to more complicated litigation to clarify the meaning of the law.
