Toyota recently announced one of Britain’s most comprehensive safety recalls because of a fault with the accelerator in some of its cars.  This weekend Toyota revealed that there have been 250 complaints by British drivers some of which are likely to lead to accident claims.  This represents a far higher number of problems than first reported.

The problem appears to be centered on the UK as there have been no reports of problems elsewhere.  Here, 180,000 Toyota owners have been asked to take their cars into dealerships for repair and modification.
