Rise In Accident Claims Reported By Major Insurers
Major insurers have reported that they have paid in excess of £650 million in response to the recent flurry of compensation claims. A large proportion of money was paid out in relation to damage to houses, cars and businesses. An increase of personal injury accident claims were highlighted following the recent severe winter weather.
Motorist reported a rise in car accidents mainly due to the icy road conditions, following the failure of local council to adequately grit the highways. Potholes were also the cause of a lot of accidents and still remain cause for concern as there seems to be a delay in repairs by the local authorities. It has been suggested that if adequate precautions had been taken in the first place many accidents could have so easily have been prevented.
