A 24 year old man received £14,000 in compensation after being hit by a car after a night out with friends.

Grant McQueen was hit by a car driven by Kerry Blythe, which resulted with him sustaining head injuries which required hospital treatment.

Miss Blythe, a 20 year old waitress, vehemently denied that the accident, which occurred on the island of Aran in 2006, was her not fault. Mr McQueen, she alleged, was lying in the road and anyone could have run over him.

Accident claims such as these are dealt with at the Court of Session in Edinburgh. The case resulted in an out of court settlement in favour of Mr McQueen.
