Teenager Wins Huge Payout

A 16 year old won a guaranteed compensation payout for injuries he suffered in a horrific car crash in Swinton, in May 2003.

William Stanton was passenger in a car driven by Matthew Collinson, when it collided with an oncoming car. Stanton and three other passengers were severely injured and the driver died.

The crash left William with appalling brain damage and injuries to his hand. He will require constant care and attention for the rest of his life.

It was originally argued that the teenager was partly to blame for his injuries as he wasn't wearing a seatbelt and had a passenger on his knee. The Appeal judge however, accepted that wearing a seat belt would not have prevented Stanton's injuries.

Accident claims regarding such devastating injuries usually amount to seven figures. A final amount is yet to be decided.
