A woman has finally won her compensation battle after her daughter was seriously disabled in a hit and run accident. The accident happened in 2004 in Sale, Manchester and the Mother has been pursuing a personal injury compensation claim ever since.
The driver of the car was uninsured and so the claim was brought against the Motor Insurers' Bureau. After a 5 year battle she has been awarded a £1 million lump sum and £40,000 annually.
The woman's daughter has a full time carer and has to attend regular rehabilitation sessions. She has mobility problems, memory loss and struggles to identify people.
