A former fitness instructor receives £1 million in compensation after she was knocked down by a van in 2003.

As a result of the impact the 35 year woman suffered severe brain damage resulting in paralysis.

The accident also led to the woman having a stroke which has left her with memory loss.

After the High Court ruling in London the mother of the woman said the family were expecting at least £4 million from the accidentclaim. Her daughter requires 24 hour care and she feels 'absolutely disgusted at the unacceptable amount of compensation'.
