A grandmother is to join the growing number of people who are making accident claims as a result of the icy weather. She had to be taken to hospital after falling on an untreated road and is now seeking compensation from Waltham Forest Council.

She was treated for concussion and a head injury at Whipps Cross University Hospital after the fall.

The accident happened on 23rd December but she is still suffering from dizzy spells. The local authority is being blamed for her accident because it is claimed thatthey did not adequately grit the road surface.
