Recently published figures have indicated that around 12% of drivers in Liverpool are uninsured. The figures were released by the Motor Insurers' Bureau last week. Greater London had the highest number of uninsured drivers followed closely by Liverpool. Driving without insurance is illegal in the UK and up to 500 uninsured cars are confiscated by police each day.
