Chrysler has announced that they will settle some of the accident claims of people who were injured because of a fault. The company will pay some of the claims against vehicles purchased before its bankruptcy.

However, a representative from Chrysler said that the announcement does not include any claims which were filed prior to the company's bankruptcy.
Consumer groups are pushing for the product related claims to be allowed for all accident victims regardless of when their claims were filed. Chrysler argues that it would be unfair to lumber the new company with historical claims relating to injuries sustained due to defects from vehicles produced by the old Chrysler company.
