Personal Injury Claim Case Summary
Mr. B sustained an injury whilst attending a digger training course at the Defendant’s premises. Mr B was unemployed at the time and was undergoing further training to aid his return to the workplace. Whilst alighting from a JCB excavator, Mr B’s left hand caught on a bolt protruding from the hand rail. His wedding ring caught on the bolt leaving him hanging and causing a severe laceration to his finger. Mr B required hospital treatment and his wound was cleaned and stitched under local anesthetic.
Mr B was left with permanent symptoms in the finger and had to delay his search for employment. The training company continuously denied liability for the accident and Court proceedings were issued against the Defendant. With only weeks to go to trial the Defendant made an offer to settle the Claimants claim and the case resolved without the need from the Claimant to attend Court.
Damages Awarded
Mr B received damages of £4250.
