Mr. A sustained injury following an accident at work. Mr A was employed as a trackman and on this occasion fell whilst undertaking track repairs at 2.00am. There were hazards on the track where Mr A was working and poor lighting. As a result, Mr A fell into a hole causing him to suffer injury to his left ankle and knee. Mr A sustained a partial tear of his Anterior Cruciate Ligament which weakened his knee and 5 days after the accident his injured ankle gave way causing a full rupture of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament requiring surgery. Mr A was absent from work for a significant period of time following the accident.
