Mr. A sustained injury following an accident at work. Mr A was employed as a trackman and on this occasion fell whilst undertaking track repairs at 2.00am. There were hazards on the track where Mr A was working and poor lighting. As a result, Mr A fell into a hole causing him to suffer injury to his left ankle and knee. Whilst alighting from a JCB excavator, Mr B’s left hand caught on a bolt protruding from the hand rail. His wedding ring caught on the bolt leaving him hanging and causing a severe laceration to his finger. Mr B required hospital treatment and his wound was cleaned and stitched under local anesthetic.
