A parents of a baby who died shortly after birth have been awarded £50,000 in compensation.
In October 2006 Katherine Harmen was admitted to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in order to give birth to her baby. Medical staff failed to notice that the baby was in the breach position and as a result used the wrong equipment during the delivery which led to the baby being starved of oxygen.
Attempts were made to resuscitate the baby and she was placed on a life support machine. Tragically, the damage was so severe that she died 5 days later.
The successful accident claim was reported earlier this month.
