APIL chief executive Denise Kitchener has urged people to think twice before going under the knife in a foreign country. She said travelling abroad for medical treatment is becoming increasingly popular as it can prove much cheaper, but patients need to be aware of the risks involved, the need for additional insurance and the difficulties with legal representation if anything were to go wrong.
