Forklift Truck Compensation Claims

Forklift trucks are known to be responsible for a high number of accidents in the workplace.  Accidents usually happen as the result of bad training, poor factory or workplace layout or the bad maintenance of the vehicle. Figures published by the Health and Safety Executive indicate that there are around 8,000 accidents involving Forklift trucks each year.

The most common accidents involving Forklift trucks happen because of the weight being carried by the truck or because of poor visibility and stability.  Forklift trucks commonly turn over, their loads are often dropped or they trap other members of staff who are working in the same vicinity.

For example recently, a man was killed in an accident involving a Forklift truck at an iron works in the Black Country.  Despite of the efforts of the emergency services the man died at the scene.
