Young Drivers and Car Accidents

It has been shown by research that there are certain times during our lives when we are more at risk from road traffic accidents than at others.  As a teenager you are 10 times more likely to be involved in a car crash that you are between the ages of 40 and 50.  This is partly due to lack of experience but also because of attitudes to safety.  Teenagers are thought to be more likely to have a car accident than any other group other than the over 85s.

Teenage car accidents are caused by overconfidence and lack of experience.  These accidents are almost always caused by speeding or driving inappropriately fast for the driving conditions.  They all too often lead to serious injury and in many cases fatalities.  These accidents are often more catastrophic because young drivers tend to carry lots of passengers.  Each year thousands of young people are injured in car accidents and often have to live with the consequences for the rest of their lives.

If you have been involved in a car accident which wasn’t your fault and you have been injured, you may be able to make a claim for compensation.  You should seek the advice of a personal injury lawyer.
